Von dieser Stelle, aufgenommen hier in Haslau a.d. Donau, sind es noch 1902 Km bis zum Donaudelta in Rumänien.

 

Die Donau ist ein außergewöhnlicher Fluss: Mit rund 2850 Kilometern Länge ist sie der zweitlängste Fluss in Europa nach der Wolga. Auf dieser Länge verbindet die Donau zehn Länder mit sehr unterschiedlichen Kulturen. Darüber hinaus ist sie auch sehr eigenwillig, denn sie ist der einzige größere Fluss in Europa, der von Westen nach Osten fließt. Sie war und ist einer der wichtigsten Handelswege Europas. Auf ihrem langen Verlauf nimmt sie alle Formen an, die ein Fluss nur haben kann: vom fast stehenden Gewässer bis hin zum reißenden Strom.

Vor kurzem hab ich die Ausstellung”Sag es durch die Blume” im unteren Belvedere besucht. Neben der Ausstellung ist mir der Grotekensaal sehr ins Auge gestochen.

Der Augsburger Jonas Drentwett stellte an der Decke des Groteskensaals die vier Jahreszeiten und in den Ecken die vier Elemente dar. Die fensterlosen Wände zeigen die Schmiede des Vulkan sowie die drei Grazien, Verkörperung der Prinzipien des Männlichen und des Weiblichen. Die Malereien sind größtenteils original erhalten.

Weiters finde ich es auch dehr interessant, woher der Ausdruck Groteskensaal stammt. Denn im täglichen Sprachgebrauch bedeutet grotesk eher etwas negatives mit den Bedeutungen: wunderlich, verzerrt, seltsam, übertrieben.

Doch als kunsgeschichtlicher Begriff ist er wertefrei,und in diesem Falle bezieht sich das Wort auf die Herkunft der Deckenmalerei in einer Grotte.

Hier, in Carnuntum geibt es eine herrliche Natur. Besonders in den Sommertagen genieße ich die Blumensträuße , die ich bei den Feldern, Am Rande der Straße finde.
